Enjoying the Luxuries of Base Camp

We are at base camp, which is about 11,300 feet. There is so much snow here the mules got stuck. We carried a fifty or sixty pound load up to camp two today, about 4 miles each way. We got everything set there so we can move up there tomorrow night. We are the first group to ascend the mountain this season, so it’s a lot of kicking steps and sloppy snow but we’re doing it. Everyone on the team is feeling good. We’re going to enjoy the last night in the luxuries of base camp if you can call it that and then move up to camp one.
