Jaci Walker: Eco Lips Tint Review

09.17.2012

What Eco Lips says:

Moonstone is the perfect name for this sheer luminescent mineral-tinted lip balm. It gives a gorgeous natural glow to your own lip color. Glide some on and head out for a moon dance.

This isn't your grandma's Sugar Plum, though she'd approve. Sheer berry-wine mineral-tinted lip balm, with an equal amount of both berry and wine. So if you're a girl who likes a darker shade of plum with a natural shimmer, here it is.

Ingredients:
Organic Sunflower Oil*, Organic Beeswax*, Organic Castor Oil*, Organic Coconut Oil*, Organic Vanilla*, Organic Aloe Vera*, Vitamin E, Iron Oxides, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Candelilla Wax.

* certified organic ingredients.

Packaging:
The product is packaged in generic lip balm packaging. The tube is clear in colour so you can see through what colour the lip balm is.

Fragrance:
The product has a slight vanilla scent to it.

Colour and Application:
Moonstone
The colour applies really smoothly and evenly on my lips. The colour is a very pale pink (leaning towards lilac/lavender) and has an iridescent shine to it. It's very moisturising and I would compare the pigmentation and finish of it to a glaze lipstick from MAC.

Sugar Plum
This colour is darker than Moonstone. It is a plum colour and can also be applied sheer for a more subtle look. This one doesn't feel as moisturising as the Moonshine tinted lip balm. The pigmentation is a little sheerer than the Moonstone lip balm.

Feelings:
They have a little gritty feeling on my lips, but nothing annoying. Don't even notice it. This is because they are quite frosty.

Issues:
No issues.

Overall:
I love these lip balms. My most worn lipsticks are the MAC lipsticks with a glaze finish and I love how I can just put one of these in my pocket or bag when I need to moisturize my lips or touch up my lipstick.
